Homemade Play Dough…. It’s the best!

This stuff always takes me back to when I was little and Gran used to make us our own play dough.

It came off the stove, was kneaded with a bit of flour till it was just warm to the touch…. Then it was handed off to my eager little hands. To quote Gran ‘Warm play dough is the best!’

The Recipe
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
2 tsp cream of Tarter
1 Tbs oil
1 cup water
Food coloring of choice

Put in one pot. On stove turn to high and continually stir. Remove from heat when dough comes away from sides of pot. Knead on counter with some flour until cool.

Outside is the best place to play with dough and our backyard has a shaded glass table. So out we go with dough, moulds, tools, and excitement…

It is worth the effort as Medea and Tanit craft themselves some delectable treats.

Tanit’s meal of strawberries, cherries, frog, small girl, pickle… Mmm

Medea’s dinner for Daddy – an apple, spaghetti, raspberries, and pickles…. His favorites for sure but together on one plate?!?!

Daddy is such a silly boy… He mistakes Medea’s lovely creation as real and tries a blueberry…

For me Medea crafted some pizza that looks strikingly similar to their dinner…

All this loveliness is well worth the five minutes of cooking and the five minutes of clean up (because we played outside!!).
