Peterborough Gang Geocaching

So today we ventured out with Maren and Nole to see if we could find a geocache that seemed very close to Gran and Grampia’s house.  It was a walking adventure… using all the back paths I used to take when I was a kid.  We visited the geocache called Crab Apple Tree.  Tanit and Medea were sure we were going to be looking for a crab apple tree – not sure how they guessed that might be the case!!

We walked up the street to the back path to Otonabee Drive… we located the cache in minimum time.  Maren and Nole have not really been caching before so there was some glee when it comes to the trinkets we found.  We have also been fortunate to find a geo-coin!! Super Cool!! (we forgot a pen so we will have to stop back later today and write a note in their log…

We continued up Otonabee Drive so that I could show them where Granny used to live (I have fond memories of it as we used to visit there alot and that is where Caroline used to live as a teenager.  We continued on the big loop, walked past St Pat’s School, the farmer’s field, the cemetery and stopped by Otonabee Valley School to play in their backyard.  We found some neat rocks and a feather as we walked… goes great with our geocache finds… We completed the loop the using the back path and now the kids are playing in the pool… oh the days are so hard as a kid!
